INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THIS COLD BREW COFFEE COCKTAIL

Cold Brew Coffee: cold brew coffee is smooth and has a lower acidity level than it’s hot-brewed counterpart. Make your own (recipe here) or use your favorite store bought brand.

Coffee Liqueur: you can’t have too much coffee goodness in your cold brew cocktail! Adding in coffee liqueur (like Kahlua) amps up the coffee flavor and also helps to sweeten your drink.

Walnut Liqueur: walnut liqueur (like Nocello) is a lovely addition to this drink, adding a slight nuttiness and sweetness to your cold brew cocktail.

Vodka: use your favorite, high-quality vodka in this recipe. You could also try a flavored vodka (like vanilla or whipped cream vodka; avoid fruit-flavored vodkas) if that’s your thing.

Half & Half: half & half gives your cocktail a luscious creaminess and also creates that beautiful foam on top from shaking.

FAQS FOR MAKING THIS COLD BREW COCKTAIL

Can I make my own cold brew at home? Yes, and I highly recommend it! I have a whole post outlining how to make cold brew coffee at home. I actually love to make up a batch of decaf cold brew for this recipe so I can enjoy them at night without the side effects of caffeine (I’m personally very sensitive to it).

I don’t have walnut liqueur, is there a good substitute for this ingredient? Since I know walnut liqueur may not be in your home bar, I’ve also made this recipe using amaretto (an almond flavored liqueur). It was an excellent substitute for the walnut liqueur!

I love this cocktail! What are other coffee liqueur drinks I can make to use up more of my Kahlua? Coffee liqueur is a great item to have in your home bar. A few of my favorite cocktails with coffee liqueur include: Frozen Mudslides, a classic White Russian, and a Colorado Bulldog. It’s also great mixed into coffee or hot chocolate!
