OVERVIEW: HOW TO MAKE A SKINNY PINEAPPLE MARGARITA
If you’re going to have a salted rim, run a lime wedge around the rim of your glasses and dip into a small dish filled with 3-4 Tablespoons of salt. Set your glasses aside.
Juice your orange and lime. If desired, strain into your cocktail shaker (I like to do this, but it is not a necessary step).
Place the remainder of your ingredients into your shaker with ice and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is very cold (approximately 15 seconds).
Divide between two glasses filled with ice and enjoy!
TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST SKINNY MARGARITA WITH PINEAPPLE
Add a salted rim, or a sugar-salt rim, for a little added fun! A margarita with a salted rim is a classic! I personally enjoy doing a half salt, half sugar rim on my cocktails. To add a salt rim to your margarita glasses, run a lime wedge around the rim of your glasses and dip into a small dish filled with 3-4 Tablespoons of salt (or a dish filled with about 2 Tablespoons each of sugar and salt).
Need to add a little sweetness to take the edge off of this bright and citrusy marg? Add a little simple syrup! I’d recommend trying your pineapple cocktail after shaking it up, and if a little sweetness would be preferred, stir in ½ oz of simple syrup to your glass.
Find a blanco tequila you like for the most enjoyable margarita! Blanco tequilas are a light spirit that are perfect for margaritas! Since this skinny pineapple margarita is made with fresh juices and not a lot else, using a good quality tequila is extra important. There are a lot of great options out there, but if you’re new to tequila, check in at your local liquor store and they can help you select the perfect one for you!
